Deadly Michigan Dog Bite

by / Monday, 28 July 2014 / Published in Dog Bites

Craig Systsma, a 49-year-old man from Livonia, Michigan, is dead as a result of a viscous two dog attack that occurred last Wednesday, July 24, 2014, while he was on an evening run.

Mid run, Mr. Systsma waived to a man mowing his lawn. Shortly after, running back towards his home, the man mowing his lawn noticed that the runner was being attacked by two dogs. The man ran inside his home and grabbed a gun. He was able to shoot one of the dogs, and the blast scared the other dog away.

Craig Systsma had been too badly injured to survive that attack.

The dogs responsible for the attack are Mastiff-type dogs known as Cane Corsos. This event is tragic, and our condolences go out to all of the families who have been affected by this incident.
